Una mujer en avanzado estado de gestación huye asustada por un bosque. Es perseguida por un hombre armado con una pistola. La mujer siente fuertes contracciones y tiene que pararse. Se esconde entre unos matorrales, mordiéndose para no gritar. Él la descubre y le apunta con el arma dispuesto a disparar. 35 horas antes... Ha habido un asesinato y una camarera embarazada es la única testigo del crimen, pero Corso se despista y la camarera aprovecha para desaparecer. Cuando la encuentran, está muerta de miedo y no quiere declarar. Vázquez, jefe de la unidad policial, tiene previsto jubilarse al día siguiente y delegar sus funciones en Corso, quien no parece estar emocionado por el ascenso e incluso está dispuesto a dejar la policía. Su primer objetivo será encontrar a la testigo del caso y protegerla hasta que pueda declarar.
