Pilot
Det. Brett Hopper of the LAPD is framed for the murder of a prosecutor, then discovers his girlfriend and sister are in danger as well. He can't trust his partner, who's being probed by Internal Affairs, and his ex-partner, his girlfriend's ex-husband, may be involved in the frame-up, which may be tied to a gang he was tracking.

What If They Run
Brett and Rita head up the California coast to visit her mother. Rita is unaware of Brett's predicament, but she won't be for long. And in another version of the day in question, Brett and Rita wake up in bed as before, only this time he has a bullet in his shoulder. Meanwhile, Brett learns whether he can trust Andrea.

What If He Lets Her Go
In Version 3 of Hopper's day in hell, Rita senses that he hasn't been leveling with her. Then Chad tells her about the Garza murder, just before Hopper interrupts them. Meanwhile, Hopper is befuddled about the contents of the package in his mailbox. He also must rely again on Andrea, and together they make a chilling discovery at the surprisingly palatial house of the U.S. attorney with whom he was working on the Latin Disciples case. But that's not the only way this visit plays out.

What If He Can Change the Day
Hopper gets an unexpected phone call that could lead to some answers as he comes between Andrea and Eddie, the fired cop who plunged off her deck into a ravine. Hopper also confronts Ava the swimmer about the package containing the hourglass that Garza had her send him, and he learns that Ava sent a package to his sister, Jennifer, as well.

What If They're Stuck
To prove his innocence, Brett visits the Internal Affairs office twice in search of the murder book. During his first visit, things aren't going like he planned but his second time isn't better when he doesn't have any other choice than taking someone hostage.

What If They Find Him
Finally in possession of the murder book, Hopper is able to track down a lead in the 1991 murder case that could hold answers he needs to clear himself. He also learns he must weigh the consequences of his decisions after he sees the results of his actions affect the day with adverse results.

What If He's Not Alone
While trying to track down Detweiler at an exclusive men's club, Hopper runs into Garza's widow, who implicates him as her husband's killer. But in another version of the visit to the club, he discovers that he has something in common with Surfer Dude.

What If She's Lying
Hopper fears that Jennifer is mixed up in the plot against him, but must first visit his estranged mother to find out the connection. He suspects that his late father's involvement in the Contreras murder is at the bottom of it. Meanwhile, Andrea tries to find Fencik and Buchalter's ties to the plot, and Chad meets Buchalter. The meeting doesn't go well.

What If They're Connected
Struggling to make a connection between a city counselor named Booth and Assistant District Attorney Garza, Brett begins to believe he has found his man when he comes into contact with Booth's assistant Luis Torres.

What If He's Free
After some more research, Hopper finally finds out who really murdered Alberto Garza.

What If He Walks Away
Hopper tries walking away from the day with Rita, but his actions have decidedly negative consequences. Meanwhile, he discovers that someone he thought he could trust has betrayed him.

What If She's the Key
Brett is profoundly disturbed to discover that his girlfriend Rita is playing a key role in the murderous conspiracy.

What If It's Him
Hopper finally breaks the cycle only to discover that 'tomorrow' brings more problems.
