De Poli - Season 1

Tobias starts his internship and thinks he can surpass the hardworking physician assistant Selina. While nurse Patty works her butt off, nurse Brigitte does as little as possible after a burnout. While midwife Lieke continues to transfer new birthing women to the department and Selina tries to prove that she is suitable for the profession, Esther is committed to changing the department.

The tension is not only palpable among women giving birth at De Poli; Emotions also sometimes run high among the staff. While nurse Brigitte takes her time with her breathing exercises, nurse Patty doesn't even have time to eat lunch. Still, she discovers how important it is to answer questions about salad dressing correctly. While enjoying a croquette, intern Tobias tries to build a bond with Harold Bens, but is then suddenly pulled into the consultation hour by Esther Bens. She believes that he can increase his knowledge about the genital area.

Patty is put on hold by Roy and is pissed about this, both literally and figuratively. After a conversation with Esther, she decides to make good use of her sudden free time and creates a dating profile to work on her 'sexual script'. The entire clinic is having a hard time without Patty's help and while Tobias is mainly busy with his stamp card, everything goes wrong. Roy desperately tries to find a solution. Physician assistant Selina and anesthesiologist Johan appear not to be the ideal duo to reassure patients prior to an operation.

Doctor Harold Bens behaves differently than normal during his interview for Arts Op Wielen. Patty continues dating but is done with men who want to walk. Live streams and bath births (with poo scooper) are now indispensable at De Poli. And while the libido of some patients is difficult to control, sparks also fly among each other.

The semi-annual audit takes place. For primary midwife Lieke, this is her first audit and she does not hesitate to express her opinion, something that Agnes finds unpleasant. Selina then notices complications in all her patients, which leads to unrest in the department. Esther receives a couple who want to have children and who have organized everything neatly, except their sex life.

Despite a waiting room full of waiting patients, Doctor Harold Bens is not having his best day. First he clashes with his daughter Esther, then his long-term colleague Agnes announces her departure and Selina stands up for herself. Brigitte helps Patty with her expat patients and they gossip a lot together. Lieke and Tobias send each other mixed signals and a salesman from Venus Punani visits Esther.

Anthroposophical midwife Dana is joining the De Poli team. The wildest stories are circulating about this feisty aunt and modern witch. Harold and Roy want her to leave as quickly as possible, with broom and all. Esther starts the conversation with Lieke and also with Tobias, who is explicitly reminded of the code of conduct he has signed. With Patty and Johan the hints are flying around, but the question is whether they are actually understood.

The doctors enjoy paid holidays and parties in the form of conferences and symposia, says nurse Patty. And now it's that time again; the presentation of the Golden Scalpel to Doctor Harold Bens naturally also calls for a drink. Tobias seems to feel more sorry for himself than for his patient. During a consultation, Esther explains how female pleasure can be achieved from start to finish. When Dana feels insecure at the drinks, she defines her territory very carefully. Peter wears an Argentinian bull breeder's hat.

Selina applies for a training place at the outpatient clinic, but in addition to the obligations that call her and missing her interview, she also feels the competition from applicants with a double surname. Patty struggles with insecurities and sadness and asks Theo for advice. Esther gives sexual advice to a couple after giving birth. And what does Tobias do now that he has obtained all his stamps?

It's Christmas at the clinic. Roy is getting ready for a party. Brigitte just longs for a moment of peace. Esther keeps the picket duty bed occupied just a little too long and that requires a special consultation with her father Harold. Selina can't wait for the results and is caught. Tobias misses his family traditions and is having a hard time. And when he is finally allowed to go home, something unexpected happens: the entire nativity scene arrives.
