In the high canopy, prey avoids the death that stalks the forest floor, but monsters don't play by the rules. It's not a matter of if they'll face danger, but when.

The forests of India play host to nightly battle of life or death before dawn. A forest of illusions that is home to giant bats, venomous serpents, assassins, tricksters and beasts beyond your imagination. She can rely only on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a handful of devoted friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience.
