On a cursed island, ravaged by a strange plague called "the Evil", a king has his alchemists develop a cure in order to save his people from the disease... but the antidote transforms the inhabitants of the kingdom into monsters! He then decides to create an army using the latter, but very quickly, the situation becomes uncontrollable... A prophecy reveals the advent of an immortal hero, who will bring peace by killing the Demon King, responsible for this chaos. It will be the duty of Laure Esposito, young guardian of the order of Truth, to find this flame-headed chosen one and save the world from its destruction. Great good for him, because for the chosen one, finding the remedy for Mal-Being: he doesn't care. Bring peace? Above all, he wants us to screw it over him!

Having managed to escape the dream and the time loop via Indexa, Laure and Flamehead make their way to the fortress of The Thumb, the minter of coins. Expecting to find a hostile adversary, against all odds, he offers them a treatment.

With The Thumb defeated, Flamehead must get his hands on the Sword of Truth, which is on display at the Institute of the Guardians of Truth. Much to the dismay of Laure, the two adventurers have to sneak in and steal it.

Although Laure has lied to him, Flamehead travels to the King's castle to free her. There, the guardian Majorum and the King of the realm await him for an epic battle.
