1978. 25-year-old childhood sweethearts Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton are travelling through Central America sending tapes and letters home with details of their travels. A chance encounter with an American skipper and his two sons changes their plans and the nightmare back home, begins.

Chris and Peta's bodies have been found floating off the coast of Guatemala. The killer is on the loose, and a key witness, fights to be heard. The case goes cold for four decades until, Chris' sister Penny turns online sleuth and discovers a truth much darker than they'd ever imagined.

Episode 3
2016. With the suspected killer in custody, Prosecution and Defense prepare for an epic courtroom battle that hinges on the credibility of the key witness. Justice is within reach when both families are dealt a cruel blow and are forced to face another agonising twist in a long journey for answers.
