Ex-spy Max Easton is brought out of retirement against his will by George White, London chief of MI6/CIA team 'The Section'.

A Kind of Warfare
In Washington, we meet the CIA's Amanda Jones. Max, now in Beirut, doesn't know who to trust after speaking to Leyla, a member of The Section team there.

The Man Came Around
When Amanda Jones arrives in London she brings the full force of CIA dissatisfaction to bear on White, who struggles to retain control.

Reunion
Anna and her brother struggle to protect her daughters in France. Alexander Said, who led the team in Tehran, arrives in London, but The Section head is in no mood for forgiveness.

Merger
Leyla investigates links between Iran and the US. In France, White and his second-in-command Khalid Walker use Anna to leverage pressure on Max. This drives Max back from Beirut to the Pyrenees, where matters come to a head.

Stories
Max is reunited with his family, but danger is not far behind. He travels to London and finally manages to get to White. In Tehran, Leyla meets a US envoy who provides her with yet more clues related to the orders her unit were given.

White Noise
In London, Max's digging stirs the attention of a sniper with a fatal point to make. In Washington Jones sends out a crack team to recover scientific evidence from an Iranian desert nuclear facility - the net is closing in.

Blood in the Sand
Max heads to the US and may have finally discovered the real reason why the Tehran unit found themselves on The Section's hit list. Although he may have won the battle, he now has to work out if he can stop the war.
