Mick and Andreas' investigations lead them to the "Ruhr River Ranch," a Wild West club in the middle of the Ruhr region. After Mick befriends the club's founder, Tobias Henf, ‘Chief' Jürgen Tamm soon comes under suspicion. His "squaw" had an affair with the murder victim. But Markus Wollert also benefits from the death of his brother Klaus...

This time, Mick and Andreas have to solve the murder of Frank Terhoven, a young stripper. Their first lead takes the investigators to Rene, an older colleague and friend of Frank's. Rene had an argument with Frank during a performance the night before. His motive could have been jealousy. The strip club's manager, Beate Kampmann, had taken away Rene's position as lead dancer and given it to Frank. Was he simply unwilling to accept this?

After the sausage-grilling competition at the "Südsee" campsite, there is no winner, but one dead person: groundskeeper Harry is found murdered in his office—with the competition's winner's trophy, of all things. Mick and Andreas investigate in one of the last refuges for dropouts. But even here, not everything is as it seems: Harry's grieving widow Rita has had a lover for some time, and he would do almost anything to make Rita free for him...

A murder case leads Mick into the world of modern treasure hunting. Moritz Weber, founder of a geocaching club in Essen, is found dead in the woods next to his "treasure," a small Tupperware container—mysterious coordinates on his arm, a tiny plastic toy figure in his esophagus. The trail obviously leads to the "Treasure Hunters" and their members. The investigators have no choice but to go treasure hunting themselves...

The body of Silke Hansen is found in a wooded area. She had been attending a weekend seminar run by couples coach Bernd Neumeister with her husband Erik and their 17-year-old son Rasmus. Mick is completely confused when he and Andreas suddenly encounter his therapist Tanja at Neumeister's villa: she is leading the seminar together with Neumeister and is blaming herself for perhaps having overlooked something crucial about the Hansen family...

The "Naked Tankers of Huttrop" are a group of motorists who are protesting against constantly rising gasoline prices by filling up their tanks naked. The protest is well received by the public, but less so by the oil companies.

Velina, a "fortune teller and spiritual healer," is dead. Mick and Andreas quickly identify a suspect. Heinz Schäfer's wife Bettina cannot have children and paid Velina 50,000 euros for aura healing—without her stingy husband's knowledge.

Herbert Kupp is found dead in the church of the parish of St. Betram. During the investigation, it turns out that the location where the body was found was apparently not the scene of the crime. In addition to the complicated case, Mick also has to deal with Tanja: she is relying on acquaintances from the internet in her search for a partner – too dangerous, Mick thinks.

Organic farmer Jacob Hoffmann is found dead in the cutting mechanism of a combine harvester. The only witness is the victim's girlfriend, Silke Reiss. However, she claims not to remember anything. Andreas doesn't believe her. On the contrary, he considers her a prime suspect. Mick feels completely differently: he likes Silke and feels reminded of his own story. But the fact is, there is something wrong with Silke—Mick will have to realize that at some point...

When kindergarten teacher Felix suddenly falls dead from his bike on his way home from work, Mick and Andreas know that something is wrong. They are convinced that it is murder when a high dose of painkillers is found in Felix's thermos flask. During their investigation at the "Ronald Reagan" daycare center, which is run by a German-American couple, they discover that there are some irregularities there. Did Felix want to draw attention to this?

Lorenz Silber is seriously injured in a traffic accident. Investigators find a female corpse in the trunk of his car. Mick and Andreas are unable to learn her identity from the banker, who is in a coma. In the course of their investigation, Mick and Andreas come across the travel agency "Voyage de Luxe." The owner not only arranges luxury trips, but also finds partners for her clients. The dead woman was a good customer and turns out to be one of the richest women in Essen...

Günther Kowalski is shot dead in his armchair at home. Investigators discover that Kowalski was apparently involved in the kidnapping of his former boss, Alfred Wannstedt. Wannstedt ruthlessly laid off employees to boost his own bonus, including Günther Kowalski. When Wannstedt reveals that there was a second kidnapper, Mick and Andreas suspect that this person could also be Günther Kowalski's murderer.
