A corpse dug up by wild boar is found by a hunter in the Forstenrieder forest. The dead man is identified as Simon Sobotka, a skipper and drug dealer who was receiving medical treatment for a brain hemorrhage and was living on a cabin boat on Lake Starnberg. In addition to the friendly boatyard owner Heinkel, the victim seems to have had little social contact, but then Vera Lanz encounters a reference to a former patient at the clinic, who is said to have known Sobotka well.
