The body of a girl is found in the jackdaw forest. What do the mysterious symbols etched into her skin mean? While Koray Larssen suspects a serial killer, Ulrike Bandow follows clues that lead to the local neo-Nazi scene. She meets her former best friend Christa, whose husband Frank seems to have connections to the victim. Ulrike soon suspects that this case leads into her own past and hides important details from her new colleague Larssen that could lead to the perpetrator.

Die Runen
Ulrike and Larssen don't have much time: a second girl is missing. You must find the kidnapped child before he falls victim to the Rune Murderer. Ulrike has no idea that her brother Marc is becoming increasingly involved in the case and the strange girl Ingrid also seems to know more than she dares to say. Larssen, on the other hand, pursues his own goals. Can Ulrike really count on him?

Der Wolf
After Danjana's thwarted kidnapping, Ulrike remembers having also encountered the monstrous wolf in her childhood. Christa should know more, but she remains silent. Hoping to find out more about the past, Ulrike goes to visit her mother in Hamburg. Nothing is holding Larssen back in Wussitz now, because he has finally found what he was looking for all along. Is he really ready to leave Ulrike behind with the case?

Meanwhile, the Rune Killer circles around his next victim, just waiting for the right moment to finally strike. But Ulrike and Larssen are still missing the crucial piece of the puzzle to prevent another murder.

The case turns out to be a complex network and the unpredictable perpetrator is once again one step ahead of the investigators. Larssen has abused Ulrike's trust and they part ways. While the rune murderer's victim fears for his life, Ulrike's only option is to go it alone. She knows the serial killer is obsessed with his merciless plan and is willing to risk her own life to save two others.
