In 1993, a girl's body was found on a bed of flowers in a forest, covered in mysterious runes. The East German commissioner Ulrike Bandow and her new colleague Koray Larssen take over the case. Mysterious clues lead the investigative duo into the German-German past to an undiscovered, bizarre series of murders - which apparently hasn't ended yet. The investigators' cruel assumption is that the perpetrator has returned to the place where it all began. In order to stop him, the unlikely investigators have to learn to trust each other. But Larssen has an agenda of her own and Bandow is confronted with her past while solving the case...
