Herbert Poltschuster, der in seiner Freizeit erfolgreich Zwergkaninchen züchtet, wurde leblos in seinem Garten aufgefunden – erschlagen mit dem Siegerpokal für ein Kaninchen. Die Kommissare Hansen und Kaya nehmen die Ermittlungen auf. Verdächtig ist Poltschusters Frau Angelika. Ihr untreuer Mann hatte eine hohe Lebensversicherung zu ihren Gunsten abgeschlossen, und Geld ist bekanntlich immer ein starkes Motiv. Auch Jens Lindhuber gerät in den Kreis der Verdächtigen. Seine Frau Jana hatte eine Affäre mit dem Toten. Und schließlich ist da noch Dr. Bernd Schneider, in dessen Baufirma Herbert Poltschuster als Buchhalter tätig war. Das Opfer und Dr. Schneider hatten in letzter Zeit öfter Streit – aber hatte das auch etwas mit dem Mord zu tun? Währenddessen wird auf dem Kommissariat anlässlich Daniel Donatos rundem Geburtstag Geld für einen Tandem-Fallschirmsprung gesammelt. Doch wie sich herausstellt, hat Donato gar nicht vor, den Sprung zu wagen.
