Barbie

Barbie is a 2023 movie that follows the titular doll, living in Barbieland, where the Barbies rule everything, taking all the jobs and houses, while the Kens are off on the sidelines, simply living as accessories. When the stereotypical Barbie (Robbie) begins to have an existential crisis, including questioning her mortality, she journeys to the real world, where she bonds with the struggling mother and Mattel employee Gloria (America Ferrera). Ken (Ryan Gosling) follows along but ends up learning about the patriarchy and attempts to bring it back to Barbieland. Supporting Cast Nicola Coughlan plays Diplomat Barbie, showcasing her range beyond her popularity in "Bridgerton". Issa Rae appears as President Barbie, bringing her signature style and presence to the role. Simu Liu and Ncuti Gatwa take on the roles of other Kens, adding variety and charm to the ensemble. Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, and Hari Nef represent different versions of Barbie, highlighting the diversity within Barbieland. Their characters contribute significantly to the storyline's progression and the film's exploration of identity and self-expression. Cameo Appearances The film also includes notable cameo appearances which enhance its appeal. Dua Lipa appears as Mermaid Barbie, blending her musical talent with acting. John Cena makes a surprising appearance as Merman Ken, adding a unique twist to the narrative. Marisa Abela and Lucy Boynton appear as Video Girl Barbie and Teen Talk Barbie, respectively, bringing nostalgic elements to long-time Barbie fans.
