Professor Andrea Fanti, brilliant Head of Diagnostic Medicine, sees his life turned upside down when the father of a dead patient shoot him in the head. Andrea survives the shot, but loses the memories from the last twelve years of his life. When he wakes up from coma he struggles recognizing his collegues, his family and the man he was before.

Andrea is hospitalized in the Diagnostic Medicine ward in the hope that, over time, the most familiar place will help him recover his memories. Giulia follows his rehabilitation, but she finds herself dealing with a different man than the one she knew. And while Andrea tries to deal with his new condition, he lets himself be involved in the medical case of his roommate Jacopo, a boy with a complex pathology and an unspeakable secret.

Andrea returns to the ward as an assistant to the residents, who until a few weeks before were terrified of him and now are struggling to get used to the unexpected reversal of roles. While he tries to win back his ex-wife, the collaboration with Giulia on the case of a young manager will prove difficult and full of surprises.

The arrival of a particularly important patient for Giulia exasperates the competition among the residents, giving Andrea the opportunity to really get to know them. In the meantime, he involves the department in finding his email account's password that could help him rebuild a fundamental part of his past, but that someone wants to hide from him at all costs.

Giulia takes Andrea back to the hospital for a patient who asks to be examined exclusively by him, but who's unaware of his current conditions. However, a mistake caused by his amnesia puts all the residents under pressure. Meanwhile, Alba is forced to face the resentment she feels towards her mother.

A special episode set ten years earlier. Andrea, still an enthusiastic doctor with his family intact, for the first time has the opportunity to make a career leap. Keeping everything together, however, is not easy: the competition he suddenly finds himself involved in with his colleague Marco risks making him lose sight of who he really is.

The arrival in the hospital of Carolina, struck by a mysterious pathology, causes a series of conflicts between Andrea and Agnese that they must overcome together for the sake of their daughter. The attention of the young residents, on the other hand, is catched by an eye-catching influencer, and Alba cannot hide her jealousy for Riccardo.

In an attempt to recover his role as a father and help Carolina recover from her illness, Andrea returns to court Agnes. An annoying headache makes Gabriel struggle with treating a patient, while Elisa and Riccardo have to deal with a wanna-be astronaut.

Andrea is certain that he has finally broken through Agnese's heart and, in the wake of romanticism, proposes to organize a wedding in the hospital for a patient in critical condition. Meanwhile, an unexpected proposal from Gabriel upsets the balance within the group of residents.

A secret from Lorenzo's private life revealed by a patient creates amazement throughout the ward. Meanwhile, Gabriel and Elisa must strive to reconstruct the life of an elderly patient who seems to remember nothing about himself, but who repeatedly utters a single word.

The discovery of the medical record of the patient dead by mistake makes Andrea trying and reconstruct what happened before the shot that erased his memories. Marco, responsible for that death, and Agnese are not very cooperative. Alba and Riccardo struggle to re-establish their relationship and even between Gabriel and Elisa things get complicated.

A train accident transforms the Diagnostic Medicine ward into a makeshift emergency room. All doctors are called upon to do their utmost to deal with the emergency. Among the injured, a girl reopens an important chapter in Riccardo's past, which he believed to be forever closed.

The arrival in the hospital of Elisa's older sister, a nice and charming actress, makes the young resident inexplicably even more sour and grumpy. Andrea continues to dig through the years that the amnesia has erased, while Agnese is unable to hide her jealousy for the growing closeness between Giulia and the doctor.

Lorenzo is once again struggling with her ex, Chiara, when the girl is hospitalized for an overdose. Marco and his wife feel increasingly threatened by the research that Andrea is carrying out on Satonal, the experimental drug that seems to have caused several deaths. Gabriel, on the other hand, has to explain to his community that he plans to stop.

Andrea finds himself in the eye of the storm when a former resident accuses him of falsifying the results of a pharmaceutical trial: unable to defend himself due to amnesia, he seeks confirmation in the people close to him. Meanwhile, Lorenzo has to fight to get Chiara on the transplant list, and Agnese has a sudden illness.

Agnese's conditions worsen rapidly and Andrea finds the support of the whole department to try to discover the disease she suffers from. But the accusations brought against him of his involvement in the falsification of results of a pharmaceutical trials risk take him away from the hospital for good.
