DOC - Nelle tue mani - Season 2

February 2020. Doc is determined to keep his team together and not let it fall apart: Giulia wants to move to Genoa, Lorenzo will perhaps leave medicine, Gabriel is leaving for Ethiopia, and Elisa also no longer seems interested in practicing at the hospital because she wants to spend a year on tropical diseases and join her boyfriend. Even Carolina doesn't want to think about Diagnostic Medicine, much to the chagrin of her father, who in the meantime doesn't seem to want to give up on Agnes. Giulia discovers she got pregnant after a night with Lorenzo. Cecilia Tedeschi, an infectious disease specialist and a study partner of Andrea and Agnese, arrives at the hospital. Meanwhile, a new virus from China comes to upset plans.

Months after the pandemic, Andrea's ward is reopened but someone is missing: Lorenzo is no longer there since he died in March 2020 due to COVID-19. Andrea left the ward to visit elderly people outside the hospital, occasionally helped by Riccardo. The hospitalization of Giacomo, a health worker, after what appears to be a hysterical attack is the first case under the direction of the new Chief. Lorenzo's death causes create concern, and an investigation threatens to reveal that he was patient zero. Meanwhile, Gabriel still intends to leave Italy. After losing her child, Giulia is increasingly determined to leave for Genoa once the investigation is over. Damiano Cesconi arrives in the department to replace Lorenzo. Doc decides he wants be the Chief once again and dreams of suffocating Lorenzo to the point of killing him, although it is not clear if it is only a dream or there is something true...

While the investigation conducted by Caruso gets to the bottom and starts unraveling the secrets of the pandemic, Andrea faces a difficult choice: in order to be the Chief again he has to take some exams, but if he fails them he won't be allowed to be a doctor anymore. Carolina, who bonded so much with Riccardo during the emergency, ponders if she'd like something more from him than friendship.

Dealing with the case of a young tennis phenomenon, Andrea is forced to wonder if it is worth stopping being "Doc" to pursue the role of Chief. In the meantime, Carolina suffers in seeing Riccardo with Alba. Gabriel does not show up for the appointment Enrico set up for him with the new psychologist at the hospital, Lucia Ferrari.

Doc finds himself in direct competition with the new Chief and takes several risks, but he takes the opportunity to involve and help Agnese too, who had to leave the position of medical director and go back to being a doctor.

While a little war breaks out between Doc and doctor Valenti over Carolina, Doc faces the case of a boy with overbearing parents and is forced to question himself as a father.

Silvia's case closely involves Enrico too, as some of his past finally emerges. While Caruso's tests show more and more the actual intent of putting Doc in trouble, Cecilia starts finding out the team's secrets.

Back to the first months of the first wave, to finally uncover the secret that Doc and his team hide about what happened during those months of emergency and that seems to have definitely broken the relationship between Carolina and his father.

In order to cure an imprisoned mother who allegedly attempted to kill her own daughter, Doc must fight the prejudice of the entire hospital, in the exact same moment he becomes the main target of the investigation. Doc and Agnese are suddenly brought closer by this new situation, but in the meanwhile Damiano has found out a compromising proof on Doc and the team, and now he must choose which side he's on.

While our doctors are forced to take care of a patient that they would have never wanted to see hospitalized, the fracture between Doc and Carolina widens more and more, and Andrea must face a reckoning with himself: is he up to the task as the others expect from him? Or is it time to give up?

Agnese is surprised to find Manuel's mother hospitalized, the child she has in foster care with Davide, and with whom things don't seem to go too well. Agnese will have to question everything she thinks she knows, just when Andrea seems to want to be closer than ever. While Damiano's choices seem to open an insanable rift between him and Giulia, Gabriel finally decides to open up with the psychologist.

It is the day of the simulation for Doc as Chief: Andrea goes back to wearing the lab coat for one day, but a sudden IT blackout of the hospital systems forces him to make a series of risky choices.

While the doctors are busy solving the delicate case of a deafblind boy, Cecilia makes Doc an unexpected offer, triggering the jealousy of Agnese and Giulia. Meanwhile, Riccardo discovers something about Doc that puts him in a deep crisis. Gabriel makes a shocking proposal to Elisa, putting her in front of a difficult choice.

Giulia is forced to reckon with her bulky mother when her partner is hospitalized in the throes of an inexplicable syndrome. Just as Doc appears to be about to be Chief once again, Cecilia discovers something compromising about him.

Close to become Chief once again, Doc is forced to make a painful confession in front of the whole department. As doctors try to save the life of a young soldier with inexplicable symptoms, Agnese begins to investigate.

Locked in the hospital in a forced quarantine, the doctors are engaged in a race against time to stop a multidrug-resistant bacterium that has infected them all. Doc proposes a drastic and risky solution, but it is Giulia who has to decide.
