Doctor Ballouz and Eva enjoy their new happiness. Until Ballouz meets Annett in the hospital, who reminds him a lot of his late wife Mara. Ballouz's memories of Mara plunge him into emotional chaos. When he learns that Annett has a donor heart, he investigates. Does Annett's late wife's heart beat? After a fight, Vincent ends up as a patient in the clinic. He has his autistic brother Leo in tow, who would otherwise be home alone. Leo finds his way around the unfamiliar hospital environment surprisingly well. He gets to know the young Melli, who, after leukemia treatment and weeks of isolation, is finally released as cured, but remains sitting in the foyer because she no longer dares to go outside. Leo and Melli become friends. Vincent realizes that Leo needs him less than he wanted to believe.
