Double Helix - Season 1

Season 1
Like the intertwined strands of a double helix, some lives, once connected, are inseparable by fate.
Spanning across a decade, Cheng Yichen and Lufeng's story starts in high school where two seeming opposites are drawn together by an undeniable pull. What starts as rivalry and friendship slowly deepens into something far more fragile, forbidden, and profound. Navigating the blurred lines, the two best friends enter into a budding romance while at University, only to be torn apart abruptly by family expectations and societal judgement.
Separated without warning, Lufeng is trapped by his family in the United States, while Yichen is forced to transfer schools and rebuild a life around the absence of the one person he cannot forget. Oceans apart and with no promise of tomorrow, their love becomes a memory neither can escape.
Years later, the couple reunites in a twist of events, when Yichen realises his new boss is Lufeng. Overcoming old wounds, buried truths and misunderstandings, they find their way back to each other, only to be pulled apart once more by family and duties. Caught between the life expected of them and the love that has defined them, Yichen and Lufeng must decide how much they are willing to lose for the chance to finally belong to each other.
A passionate romance of fate, separation and undying devotion, Double Helix challenges whether true love can survive the years, the pain and the world determined to keep it apart. Like a one-way train, love does not turn back. It moves forward, unstoppable, irreversible, and bound for the only ending their hearts have ever desired.
