Parents Battle over "Woke" School Curriculum
In March 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis passed the "Parents Rights in Education" law, preventing the discussion of sexuality or gender identity in kindergarten through third grades in Florida and requiring parents to be part of teacher and student meetings. Advocates say this law protects the rights of the parent. But critics nicknamed the law "Don't Say Gay" and claim it turns back the clock on equality. Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich, co-founders of Moms of Liberty, say every parent deserves a seat at the table to make sure that certain inappropriate content is not discussed. Candice Jackson, an attorney and mother who worked for the Department of Education under President Trump, says it's our First Amendment right not to call someone by their preferred pronouns. However, Nadine Smith, executive director for Equality for Florida, says children need full transparency in their curriculum. Dave and Hannah Edwards are educators who say they pulled their trans daughter out of a public school after the school failed to teach transgender education in kindergarten. And, hear from Representative Joe Harding, who sponsored Governor DeSantis' Parents Rights in Education bill. Professor Jody Armour from the USC Gould School of Law then speaks from his heart when he suggests we all work on having better communication and giving each other more grace.

UFC Fight Night
UFC Fight Night is a part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) which is the largest mixed martial arts promotion company in the world featuring most of the top-ranked fighters in the sport. Based in the United States, the UFC produces events worldwide. The organization showcases nine weight divisions and abides by the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. The UFC has held over 300 events to date. Dana White serves as the president of the UFC while brothers Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta control the UFC's parent company, Zuffa, LLC. The first UFC event was held on November 12, 1993 at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. The purpose of the early UFC competitions was to identify the most effective martial art in a real fight between competitors of different fighting disciplines, including boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Sambo, wrestling, Muay Thai, karate, judo, and other styles. In subsequent competitions, fighters began adopting effective techniques from more than one discipline, which indirectly helped create an entirely separate style of fighting known as present-day mixed martial arts.
Wild Cards
Wild Cards follows the unlikely duo of a gruff, sardonic cop and a spirited, clever con woman. Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit, while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. But when Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
