Horton Hatches the Egg

Maisie the bird is tired of sitting on her egg day after day waiting for it to hatch. She would rather be off playing so she looks for a replacement. She sees Horton the elephant walking by and talks him into taking her spot. Maisie goes off to Palm Beach and has such a good time she decides not to go back. Horton sits through the winter on the egg waiting for Maisie to return. Hunters come in the springtime and capture Horton while he is still sitting on the egg to take him back to America to sell him to a circus. Originally released, in 1942, as part of Warner Bros.'
