Still hurt that Kat kissed Michael, Alfie puts on a cheery front and organises a Mexican night at the Vic. Alfie pawns his wedding ring for the money he owes Michael, but later discovers Michael’s returned the money. He gives the money back and tells Michael that he saw him kiss Kat, but Michael insists Kat kissed him. Roxy’s worried about Alfie, who realises she’s the first person who’s asked how he is. Alfie’s doodled K & A in a heart over his Mexican night flags. Kat’s touched and confesses that she kissed Michael. Alfie doesn’t react, but violently smashes the Piñata for Mexican night. Alfie tells Kat he doesn’t care about the kiss, but he lost a baby too, and she’s never asked him how he’s coping. Alfie admits sometimes he hates Kat, because this is all her fault. Janine’s angry with Whitney, but defends her when Roxy threatens to tell the police she saw her steal David’s wallet on CCTV. Ryan wants Whitney to leave Janine’s, but Whitney refuses. When Whitney won’t go out that night searching for men, Janine tells her to leave if she can’t pay. With nowhere to go, Whitney sleeps in a shed on the Allotments. Michael walks in on Ronnie comparing a passport photo of him to baby James. Ronnie says it just fell out of his bag, but Michael knows she’s lying. Tamwar realises Masood’s behind Afia’s decision to go travelling. Masood tells him to respect Yusef’s decision to send his daughter away. Darren urges Tamwar to take charge, and Tamwar tells Masood he knows about his ‘chat’ with Afia, and insists he talk to Yusef. Bookish

London, 1946 is the dynamic, dangerous and chaotic setting for this stylish new detective drama, with the eccentric Gabriel Book at the very heart of the story: a self-appointed consultant detective to the local police. The thousands of books that line the shelves of his shop provide him with all the knowledge he needs.

Book has gathered around him a host of lovable, damaged misfits whom he informally protects, cajoles, and mentors. His wife Trottie runs the wallpaper shop next door. She's a charismatic adventuress whom Book loves deeply but not physically, for they are in a 'lavender' marriage to help conceal Book's sexual orientation in a time when it was illegal to be gay.

Bookish marries post-war nostalgia with the reckless and life-affirming atmosphere of the times, creating a fast-paced and stylish detective drama.

The Twelve

Twelve citizens are called for jury duty on a high-profile murder trial as traumatizing as it is controversial, in which a woman stands accused of killing her sister's child.

As time goes by, the murder trial becomes a trial, not only for the accused, but for the jury members themselves.

Behind the façade of their anonymity, these twelve ordinary people bring with them their own histories. Lives that are as complex as the trial, full of fractured dreams, shameful secrets, hope, fears, personal trauma and prejudice.

Atomic

Atomic is a dynamic and entertaining action-fuelled adventure. When Max and Mohammed, two unlikely friends – and even less likely heroes – become swept up in a cartel's plot to transport uranium across North Africa, they face a monumental decision: save themselves or risk everything to prevent a nuclear bombgetting into the wrong hands.

Amandaland

Following three series of the Merman-produced, BAFTA award-winning series Motherland, a brand-new spin-off, Amandaland, is coming to the BBC, focused on Amanda.

Post her divorce, Amanda has had to downsize and up sticks to South Harlesden, or as the Estate Agent calls it SoHa (definitely not the area around Wormwood Scrubs prison).

With both Manus and Georgie now at secondary school, Amanda has to try and get her head around raising teenagers, dealing with modern motherhood horrors like teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety. Not even a woman as certain of her parenting as Amanda can deal with these nightmares alone.

Then there's Amanda's mother Felicity who is constantly around, and completely in denial that she is, in fact, lonely. Theirs is a slightly unhealthy co-dependent relationship based on backhanded compliments and veiled snipes about her new home.

After a brief spell of freedom, Anne is sucked back into being Amanda's minion to help her navigate the social scene with the other parents at the children's new school. Thank God for Anne.
