Maria Elena lives a forbidden love with Alfredo Martinez, son of her father's sworn enemy. Alfredo presses Maria Elena to confess to her family the relationship she has with him. Alfredo discovers that because of his father Rafael hates him.

Matilde cries because Rafael does not love her. Maria Elena believes that she is pregnant because she spent the night with Alfredo.

Alfredo confesses Rafael that he has a relationship with Maria Elena. Maria Elena finds out that Clemencia had a relationship with Isidro.

María Elena gets everything ready to flee with Alfredo from town, but things do not go as she expects. Alfredo makes María Elena believe that he is a compulsive gambler just to get rid of her. Matilde devises a plan to make Jorge Luis fall in love.

Maria Elena confesses Jorge Luis that she does not love him. Mama Dolores suspects that Maria Elena is pregnant. Maria Elena decides to leave her house to start a new life.

Maria Elena tells Alfredo that she may be pregnant and asks him to take Mama Dolores on their trip. Clemencia loses her temper and dismisses Mama Dolores. Alfredo is forced to pay a gambling debt.

Alfredo makes Maria Elena believe that he accepts her pregnancy, but plans to leave her and go away. Rafael allows Mama Dolores to continue working for his family. Alfredo manages to escape from the collectors and goes to the United States.

Aldo decides to help María Elena and offers to marry her so her child has his last name. María Elena discovers that Alfredo bet all the money they were given for the estate. Rafael hits María Elena when he finds out she is pregnant.

Rafael asks Alejandro to perform an abortion on María Elena and plans to kill her baby's father. Clemencia seeks out María Elena to offer her support. Clemencia also approaches Aldo to ask about María Elena's pregnancy.

Clemencia defends María Elena from Rafael by threatening to kill him. Rafael tells Adriana that he plans to divorce Clemencia.

Rafael travels to the city to give María Elena's baby for adoption. Rafael shoots Aldo, thinking that he was the one who got Maria Elena pregnant.

Maria Elena is about to give birth, but things do not go as she expected. Matilde carries out her plans to spend a night with Jorge Luis.

Mama Dolores decides to take care of Maria Elena's son and travels to the city to make a new life with him. Maria Elena suspects that Rafael killed her baby. Matilde makes Jorge Luis believe that he spent the night with her.

Clemencia devises a plan to find Mama Dolores and Maria Elena's son. Mama Dolores registers Maria Elena's son with the name of Alberto.

Maria Elena decides to leave her house to look for her son. Graciela asks Rafael to stay away from her. Rafael is upset because Graciela knows about his affair with Adriana. Maria Elena asks Aldo to help her find her son.

Maria Elena tells Aldo the truth about Clemencia's past. Matilde asks Clemencia not to divorce Rafael. Aldo discovers that Alfredo is the father of Maria Elena's son. Rosa confesses to Matilde that she is pregnant.

Artemio is hit by a car. Graciela advises Adriana to stay away from Rafael. Graciela's heart breaks when she finds out Aldo is in love with María Elena. Clemencia questions Rafael about his lover.

Rafael gets upset because Adriana met his family. Maria Elena finds out that Matilde and Jorge Luis are going to get married.

Clemencia suspects that Jorge Luis does not love Matilde. María Elena finds a child's body in a park, believing it to be her son.

Adriana ends her relationship with Rafael. María Elena refuses to believe that her son is dead. Rafael promises Adriana that he will divorce Clemencia so they can start a family together.

Matilde confirms to Maria Elena that she is not pregnant. Aldo offers Maria Elena help with paying rent for an apartment and with the foster-home paperwork. Rafael confirms that Clemencia continues to use drugs.

The U.S. police arrest Alfredo for trying to kidnap his child. Maria Elena discovers that Clemencia has relapsed and decides to go live with her uncle Pepe. Clemencia asks Aldo for help to bring Maria Elena back home.

Rafael finds out that Adriana has returned from Miami and decides to go see her. Rafael uses some photographs of Clemencia buying drugs to blackmail her.

Matilde gets distracted to see Jorge Luis kissing Maria Elena and falls down the stairs. Aldo confesses Maria Elena that he had a son.

Clemencia finds Rafael and Adriana kissing. Alfredo calls Maria Elena and makes her believe that he has found their son. Clemencia gets even with Aldo for the affair between her husband and Adriana. Aldo asks Maria Elena for marriage.

Maria Elena asks Aldo to stay away from Graciela. Jose devises a plan to make Adriana fall in love with him, now that she has decided to leave Rafael. Rosa confesses to Maria Elena that a man abused her.

Maria Elena asks Aldo to spend one night with her. Maria Elena fears that Aldo will forget her because he is leaving to the United States.

Rafael asks Graciela to be her lover. Matilde spends the night with a young man so she can get pregnant. Rafael forbids Aldo to marry Maria Elena.

The village priest asks Maria Elena to reconcile with Rafael and forget all the bad things he did to her. Isabel suspects that Matilde is not her real mother.

Adriana refuses to believe that Aldo has died and begins an investigation to find him. Rafael makes María Elena believe that Aldo cheated on her with Graciela. Bernarda confesses to María Elena that her son is alive.

Maria Elena tells her family that she will become a nun. Rafael finds out that Aldo is alive. Maria Dolores worries after knowing that Alberto will move to Merida with her.

María Elena is surprised when she meets Alberto. Aldo becomes saddened after learning that María Elena wants to become a nun. Isabel Cristina suffers because she can't tell María Elena that Aldo is alive.

Aldo tells Graciela that he will return to Mérida to win back María Elena's love. Raúl is surprised to see Alfredo back in Mérida.

Aldo gets sad to think that María Elena knows he is alive and does not want to meet him. Aldo tells Graciela that they are free and that he will return to Mérida. Rafael faces Aldo after seeing him back in Mérida.

Isabel Cristina tells Clemencia that she will tell María Elena that Aldo is alive. Raúl confesses to Teté that Alfredo is in Mérida.

Alfredo confesses the priest that he was the one who abandoned Maria Elena. Matilde confesses Maria Elena that Aldo is alive.

Rafael and Matilde plan to use Graciela to get Aldo away from Maria Elena. Jorge Luis faces Matilde and asks her why she does not love Isabel Cristina. Teté confesses to Maria Elena that Alfredo is in Mérida.

Maria Elena faces Alfredo and berates him for his lies about their son's whereabouts. Pepe asks Adriana to marry him. Maria Elena visits Aldo to find out what really happened in the accident.

María Elena confesses to Aldo that Alfredo is in Mérida. Isabel Cristina learns that Jorge Luis was in love with María Elena and that he married Matilde because of her pregnancy.

Rafael has an accident and Alberto donates his blood to save him. Isabel Cristina invites Alberto to a reunion at her house where he has the opportunity to talk with Maria Elena. Alejandro finds Leonor kissing Rafael.  

Osvaldo takes Angelica to Alfredo's house to spend the night with her. María Elena talks with the mother superior to confirm her decision of not becoming a nun. María Elena gets jealous when she sees Aldo and Graciela together. 

Alfredo wants Maria Elena to give him a chance and Aldo defends her. Isabel Cristina rejects Santiago. Mamá Dolores suffers because Alberto is in love with Isabel. Graciela is reunited with Alfredo.

Despite Mamá Dolores trying to prevent Isabel Cristina from seeing Alberto, the two share a special moment. Santiago begins to take an interest in Clemencia.

Alberto confesses Isabel that he likes her. Rosa tells Mama Dolores that Isabel is her daughter. Graciela warns Rafael about Aldo's investigation. The police manages to capture Bruno.  

Bruno confesses Maria Elena that Rafael ordered his son killed. Alberto intends to marry Isabel Cristina. Matilde looks for Isabel Cristina to ask her to return to the house.

Maria Elena decides to leave her house to live with Aldo. Matilde tries to fix her relationship with Maria Elena. Mama Dolores is afraid of being discovered and intends to go to the city. Angelica suffers from Osvaldo's contempt.

Alfredo finds out that Mama Dolores took Maria Elena's son. Rafael feels tormented by the betrayal of his daughter and Clemencia.

Rosa comes face to face with Isabel Cristina. Clemencia tells Santiago that she would not trade their friendship for a moment of pleasure.

Hugo informs Aldo and Maria Elena that Bruno is dead. Alfredo asks Osvaldo to stop drinking, but he refuses to listen. Matilde despises Leonor by telling her that she has nothing to offer to Rafael. 

Bruno asks Mama Dolores to confess to Maria Elena that her son is alive. Rafael gets upset because his plans to get rid of Bruno did not go as he hoped.

Alfredo confesses to María Elena how Osvaldo accepted him as his father. Mamá Dolores fears that Alberto will have a relationship with Isabel Cristina.

Mama Dolores devises a plan to leave town and prevent Maria Elena from finding her. Maria Elena decides to travel to Cancún to find Osvaldo and prevent the police from catching him.

Alfredo demands that Osvaldo return to Mérida to prevent María Elena from finding him. Rafael gets upset upon learning that María Elena's son is alive. María Elena confesses to Isabel Cristina that Osvaldo is her first cousin.

Clemencia demands that Rafael stay away from Osvaldo. Angélica refuses to believe that Osvaldo is in love with Isabel Cristina.

Matilde forbids Isabel Cristina from continuing to see Angélica. Osvaldo is taken to a psychiatric hospital due to his bouts of madness.

Rafael changes his will in Matilde's favor to prevent her from telling Clemencia about his infidelities. Aldo decides to avenge Dani's death. María Elena is upset because Graciela is in New York with Aldo.

Osvaldo refuses to commit to Angélica. Aldo discovers that Carlos is responsible for Dani's murder. Rafael falls from his car and Clemencia takes him to the hospital.

María Elena decides to end her relationship with Aldo. Rafael suspects that Alejandro is interested in Clemencia. Graciela carries out her plans to keep Aldo away from María Elena. María Elena confesses the truth about her past to Osvaldo.

Rosa enfrenta a Matilde para exigirle que le confiese a Isabel quién es su verdadera madre. Aldo le pide a María Elena que le dé una nueva oportunidad para estar juntos.  

Aldo confesses to María Elena that Carlos wants to kill her. Pepe and Adriana get married in a private ceremony on the beach. Santiago tries to convince Isabel Cristina that Alberto loves her. Osvaldo begins to grow closer to Matilde.

Carlos tells Clemencia that he is willing to help her regain her trust in others. Mamá Dolores tells Alberto that Osvaldo is not María Elena's son. Guillermo approaches Osvaldo to get to know him.

Matilde confesses to Jorge Luis that Leonor was her father's lover, and he regrets having helped her. Mamá Dolores reunites with María Elena and tells her the truth about her son.

María Elena finds out that Alberto is her son. Alfredo pressures Osvaldo to ask María Elena to live together. Carlos shoots María Elena in front of Aldo.

María Elena's life is in danger and she falls into a coma. Aldo finds out that Graciela has psychiatric problems. Clemencia blames Aldo for the attack against her daughter.

María Elena undergoes surgery to save her life. Matilde gives in to Osvaldo's charm and they kiss. Angélica spends the night with Guillermo. Aldo confesses to Clemencia that it was Carlos who tried to kill María Elena.

Aldo asks Mama Dolores to tell him the truth about Maria Elena's son, but she refuses to do it. Carlos plans to kill Maria Elena and escape from Merida. Maria Elena's surgery is a success, but she remains in coma.

Aldo confirms through a DNA test that Osvaldo is not Maria Elena's son. Alejandro tells Aldo that Violeta was the one who negotiated Maria Elena's attack with Carlos. Alfredo loses everything in a card game against Carlos.

Alfredo gives up all his belongings and Osvaldo leaves him alone. Jorge Luis sees Matilde and Osvaldo kissing. Clemencia discovers that Leonor was Rafael's lover. Maria Elena suffers a crisis and is at death's door.

Maria Elena wakes up from the coma and Aldo promises to always be by her side. Jorge Luis decides to divorce Matilde. Leonor confesses to Jorge Luis the true origin of Isabel. Maria Elena tells Aldo that Alberto is her son.

Jorge Luis discovers Matilde and Osvaldo's affair. Rosa confesses to Jorge Luis that she is the mother of Isabel Cristina. Graciela manages to escape from the police. Angélica tells Isabel Cristina that Matilde is Osvaldo's lover.  

Matilde runs over Rosa and blames Osvaldo for the accident. Osvaldo is surprised to see that Rafael can move and talk. Osvaldo learns that Rafael's testament is false. Jorge Luis believes that Matilde was the one who ran over Rosa.

Aldo tells Jorge Luis that Matilde could be to blame for Rosa's death. Osvaldo asks Alberto for help to overcome his alcoholism.

Osvaldo tells Matilde that Rafael's testament is false. Alfredo blackmails Matilde with telling Jorge Luis that she is Osvaldo's lover if she does not comply with his demands.

Maria Elena confesses her family that Alberto is her son. Jorge Luis confesses that Isabel Cristina is not Matilde's daughter and that he will file for divorce. Alfredo tells Matilde that Osvaldo loves Isabel Cristina. Carlos tries to convince Matilde to kill María Elena.

Pepe and Aldo discover Adriana's lifeless body. Jorge Luis tells Alfredo that he knows that Matilde had an affair with Osvaldo.

Carlos discovers that Rafael can walk and talk. Matilde tries to convince Jorge Luis not to divorce her, but he proves her affair with Osvaldo.

Matilde is furious when she learns that Osvaldo no longer lives in Clemencia's house, because she thinks Jorge Luis told her that they are lovers. Isabel decides to end her relationship with Osvaldo and tells him that she is in love with Alberto.

Matilde berates Rafael for not having been a good father. Alfredo asks Maria Elena to forgive him for not being the man she expected. Osvaldo confesses to Jorge Luis that Alberto is the father of Isabel Cristina's child. Alfredo provokes Carlos so that he confesses that he was the one who ordered the attack on Maria Elena. Isabel Cristina tells Matilde that she never wants to see Osvaldo again.

Maria Elena fears that Clemencia falls back on drugs. Rafael asks Clemencia to give him a new chance to make her fall in love. Aldo and Maria Elena manage to get married and celebrate with a big party.
