El Encargado - Season 1

Building superintendent Eliseo overhears homeowner's association president Zambrano and architect Florencia talking about him. But when he's unable to decipher the details, Eliseo takes his eavesdropping one step further, first accessing Florencia's computer and then planting a listening device. Eliseo eventually finds out about a plan to oust him from his home and job in favor of a new pool.

Eliseo schemes to win the support of the residents - with his plan hinging heavily on manipulating people and situations. Pressure on Florencia and Marina's housekeeper leads Eliseo to find out that Florencia is cheating on Marina, while a duplicitous deed helps Eliseo gain the favor of María Pía, a devoutly religious resident.

Eliseo takes advantage of a family's vacation to rent out their apartment to a Swiss tourist. But when the owners return unexpectedly, Eliseo is forced to get rid of the tourist and the male prostitute that she's hired for the night. Also, Eliseo meets with Zambrano and administrator Messina, who inform him that the pool project, and his future employment, will be put to a vote.

Eliseo schemes up a way to take down his archenemy Zambrano, seeing it as his best shot at derailing the project and protecting his job. After a search of Zambrano's house fails to result in anything compromising, Eliseo moves to invent a lover and cause marital problems in the Zambrano household, and enlists the help of a delivery girl who has a score to settle with the penny-pinching Zambrano.

Jordi, the son of Beba's cousin, arrives to attend to the affairs of the elderly woman. Eliseo immediately senses that something is amiss, and begins to investigate as he is alerted by a suspicious accent. It turns out that Jordi is not actually the son of Beba's cousin but actually a local nurse, and it falls on Eliseo to run off the imposter.

Eliseo is blackmailed into being the late-night driver for Chiara, the daughter of a menacing tenant. After kicking out Chiara's friends, an annoyed Chiara plants a surprise kiss on him while her friends take a picture. But when Eliseo sees an opportunity to turn the tables on the blackmailer, he jumps at it wholeheartedly in a desperate attempt to line up more opposition against the project.

Eliseo sets out to help Nacho, the depressed son of a tenant who was recently dumped. At the same time, he tries to make inroads with Paola, the babysitter of Thiago, a young boy who lives in the condominium. As Eliseo lifts the spirits of Nacho, he realizes that he may have lifted them too much when Nacho asks Paola out on a date, leading him to smear Nacho's standing with his crush.

After an elevator technician visits the building, Eliseo comes up with the idea to cause an expenditure so big that the association would be forced to hit the brakes on the pool project. But breaking the elevator causes a power outage that plunges the building into darkness. Zambrano's investigation to find out the culprit pushes a desperate and guilty Eliseo into a corner.

In need of three votes to derail the pool project, Eliseo turns his attention to an elderly artist, a cat lady, and a rancher who is hardly ever in the building. After being taken advantage of sexually and kidnapping a cat to secure two votes, Eliseo recruits a vagrant to shore up the final vote, but the move backfires when the vagrant gets too comfortable in a tenant's apartment.

Eliseo watches the vote unfold from a baby monitor. Believing that he has the votes to tank the project, Eliseo is blindsided when Eugenia votes in favor of the pool project, in spite of his duplicitous gesture of returning her cat Kiwi. Paola and Thiago visit the dejected Eliseo, but he is hardly in the mood to welcome them. All that's left for him is to bring the new janitorial team up to speed.

Now working at a vegetable market, Eliseo is summoned to the building after the basement boiler explodes. Upon learning that Thiago is still inside, Eliseo heroically races into the burning building and returns minutes later with the boy in his hands. For his actions, Eliseo is offered his old job back and Zambrano is replaced by Beba. Eliseo, it seems, had one final trick up his sleeve.
