A Jacinta le han dado el alta y puede volver por fin al que considera su hogar. Sin embargo, le esperan muchas sorpresas en su vuelta al internado y no todas serán de su agrado. Héctor ha dimitido y Elsa, como nueva directora, ha decidido introducir algunos cambios, entrometiéndose en las que siempre habían sido las gestiones de la gobernanta. Julia, una nueva alumna, acaba de llegar a La Laguna Negra, pero no tiene la intención de quedarse encerrada ni un minuto más entre esas cuatro paredes. Los chicos del internado, por el contrario, están encantados con la nueva, que al menos les distrae de su castigo: limpiar todo lo que mancharon sus compañeros en su sentada de protesta. Mientras descubren que Cayetano les ha dejado una pista antes de morir. Las relaciones amorosas en el internado no pasan por su mejor momento. Héctor empieza a estar ilusionado con el embarazo de Elsa pero ésta le reprocha que su corazón esté tan lejos de ella. Carol, por su parte, ha vuelto con Iván porque cree que debe apoyarle en el mal momento que está pasando, pero no puede disimular que sigue sintiendo algo por Marcos.
