Em Casa com os Gil - Season 1

Gilberto Gil gathers his family at their country house to plan an European tour that will have all of them together on stage for the first time. The anticipation for the concerts is huge, and they only have two weeks to settle on the details of the various performances. Each Gil must choose one song to enter the setlist.

At the Gils' country house, it is time to celebrate St. John's Day, one of the family's most adored and anticipated feasts. During the party preparations, they reminisce about the troubled period that was the Brazilian military dictatorship, as well as Gilberto Gil's forced exile.

As the sun shines over the mountains, the Gils touch on controversial issues, sharing stories of covert racism they have experienced. While talking to his daughters, Gilberto Gil recalls the problems and challenges he faced during his tenure as Brazil's Minister of Culture.

It is Gilberto Gil's birthday and the family plans a big celebration. But he is not the only birthday boy: his grandson João shares the same birthday. It is a joyful day toasting to the births and cycles of life within this important family.

It is the last day of creative confinement, and the tour's setlist still has not been established. The family gathers to make the final preparations and to plan out their trip to Europe. Between one meeting and another, the Gils make offerings to the orisha Oxalá and relax by playing soccer - which is always subject of much controversy in the family.
