After a fall off a cliff, Frazer is at King's College Hospital undergoing surgery to support his unstable spine. His parents face an agonising wait for the outcome of the operation. Fifty-one-year-old Philip is suffering paralysis from the waist down after being involved in a road traffic accident. At the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, Philip begins the long road towards rehabilitation.
