Season 1

Episodes

Mumbles Pier
Emma and AJ are in Wales, helping two brothers trying to restore a much-loved seaside pier. They need to throw a party to bring the community back to the arcades and ice cream parlours – and to get the tills ringing again after lockdown.

Aberdeen
This week, Emma and AJ travel to Aberdeen to help Ebi and Emmanuel Sinteh take their online scented candle business to the next level. The couple want to get back to trading face to face with customers post-lockdown, and launching a pop up shop is the first step towards their dream of a high street business. As well as learning the intricacies of creating best-selling candles, it's an intensely personal journey for AJ. She shares a British-Nigerian heritage with Ebi and Emmanuel and her time with the couple, as well as their family, is an unexpectedly emotional one.

Robin Hood's Bay
Emma and AJ head to the beautiful seaside village of Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire to help soon-to-be-married couple Helen and Dave, who took on an adventure holiday centre just weeks before Covid struck, and quickly saw their new dream life become a nightmare of cancelled bookings and spiralling costs.
Helen and Dave need Emma and AJ's help making beds, running fossil hunting trips and serving meals to the 24 schoolchildren staying at the centre – right up until the day before their wedding. After so many losses during lockdown, Helen and Dave can only afford to take 24 hours off for their big day. So, it's all hands on deck to keep the holiday centre running and make sure the wedding goes without a hitch.

The Red Shepherdess
This week, Emma and AJ are in Cumbria meeting an extraordinary farmer – 28-year-old shepherdess Hannah – who swapped urban life for rural bliss, and a lot of hard work. They'll take on one of the toughest jobs in farming – sheep shearing – and help Hannah get her flock ready for market so she can make her first sales of the year. This brings them face-to-face with the realities of where their food comes from, so they must grapple with their own feelings as well as coming to terms with the hard physical work of sheep farming. Along the way, they'll discover the love and family support that has sustained Hannah through tough times and the joys of life on the farm.

Bookish
London, 1946 is the dynamic, dangerous and chaotic setting for this stylish new detective drama, with the eccentric Gabriel Book at the very heart of the story: a self-appointed consultant detective to the local police. The thousands of books that line the shelves of his shop provide him with all the knowledge he needs.
Book has gathered around him a host of lovable, damaged misfits whom he informally protects, cajoles, and mentors. His wife Trottie runs the wallpaper shop next door. She's a charismatic adventuress whom Book loves deeply but not physically, for they are in a 'lavender' marriage to help conceal Book's sexual orientation in a time when it was illegal to be gay.
Bookish marries post-war nostalgia with the reckless and life-affirming atmosphere of the times, creating a fast-paced and stylish detective drama.
