Chas tells her family that she plans to join the army and is disappointed when they make their disapproval crystal clear. Meanwhile, Carl worries that he can't bare the thought of losing Chas and Max and advises his brother to talk to her. As he confesses his true feelings, Jimmy interrupts with a mocking comment and Chas is left believing that she is at the centre of some sort of bet. Can Carl convince her that his feelings towards her are genuine? Elsewhere, as Sadie packs up her car, Tom approaches and asks her to manage a short-term contract near Huddersfield. Sadie is only too happy to accept and she leaves the village feeling delighted that she is still a part of the King fold. As Sadie drives away she almost ploughs into Cain and promises him that if she ever discovers that he was responsible for Damon's death, next time she won't stop.
