Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig - Season 3

Season 3
Episodes

Episode 1
Sandi is joined by Eddie Izzard on an Irish adventure as they visit three holiday hideaways in Counties Clare, Kerry and Cork and bond over homemade apple crumble. Their first stop in County Clare is a miniature modern marvel called Teeroneer, a timber-clad, prize-winning property with a sunken kitchen that Sandi just can't resist cooking in. From there the pair head to Ark Ranch Treehouse. Hand-built by one woman, Sandi and Eddie are charmed by the sense of childhood adventure they feel. Finally, they head to Lost Cottage in the mountains and lakes of County Kerry. A classic fusion of old and new, the remote rental gives the pair an excuse for Sandi to take Eddie on her very first fishing trip.

Episode 2
Sandi is joined by comedian Judi Love for a tour of the Lake District as they stay in the best staycation hideaways they can find. Starting at the Gaia Farmhouse by Ullswater, Judi enjoys the sights and sounds of the season and Sandi feels the heat when Judi cooks an exceedingly spicy take on cottage pie. The pair then head to the Lingholm Estate to stay in a unique boathouse that floats over a wild and stormy Derwentwater and go for a very choppy boat ride. The adventure concludes on the banks of Windermere in Grey Gables where Sandi and Judi unwind with some wine-time and homemade watercolour postcards.

Episode 3
In Wales, Sandi takes actor and writer Roisin Conaty on a wild and windy escape to the architectural masterpiece Seren Mor, two stylish self-built retreats and a 200-year-old tower on the borders

Episode 4
In the Midlands, Sandi takes comedian Rosie Jones to a unique eco-lodge complete with a disco bathroom, a stylishly rebooted 70s beach house and a charming hideaway known as the Wheelwright's Shop

Episode 5
Sketch comedy queen Doon Mackichan joins Sandi in beautiful Donegal, where they discover a beachside architectural behemoth, and music and laughter in a lochside eco-resort.
