She soon moved back in after Gary asked her to. Denise had made a huge effort to spoil Les after neglecting him. When he wondered what his wayward friend Caleb was up to, Denise had to lie and say she didn't know. Kelly caught Brendan lying over whose house he had slept over at, she was concerned for Melanie. Despite their families' feelings, Brendan and Melanie seemed very happy together.
