When Layne's entire locker goes missing, she, Zora and VIN go on a road trip to search for it. Mel goes overboard while trying to repay his "life debt" to Cody.

Layne misses VIN when her parents block her from spending time with him, and she's distracted as the school election day nears.
Mile 7: On the Run
To keep VIN safe, Layne and Zora hide him in the woods; VIN grapples with the realization that he might be a burden to Layne.

Layne must make the biggest decision of her life when both VIN and her parents are in danger.
