Trouble is, Van's drink is poisoned by an unseen guy who keeps in touch by phone (and seems to see everything Van does). He offers a Faustian bargain: the medical information Van will need to keep from dying if the Candy Store cops will spring a prisoner (Hal Ozsan). But no one should know what's going on, so they'll have to break the guy out of jail.
