Season 1
Season One of Fiasco will tell the story of the Iran-Contra affair, the Cold War-era debacle - involving a secret war in Nicaragua and an arms-for-hostages deal with Iran - that almost took down the presidency of Ronald Reagan.

Setting the Stage
Amidst the backdrop of the 1979 Iranian revolution, Jimmy Carter's failure to free American hostages sets the stage for Reagan's own hostage crisis.

Body and Soul
After revolution comes to Nicaragua, the Reagan Administration is convinced the Soviet Union is on the march. Lt Colonel Oliver North is tapped to support the Contras, and he vows to keep the rebel effort alive, "body and soul."

A Difficult Dilemma
A civil war in Lebanon catapults President Reagan into a new hostage crisis. While the President tries to avoid the same fate as his predecessor, National Security Advisor Robert "Bud" McFarlane is presented with a proposal that may be too good to be true.

The Trip to Tehran
In a desperate attempt to free American hostages being held in Lebanon, Reagan's cabinet strikes an illegal weapons-for-hostages deal with an Iranian arms merchant. The proceeds are funneled to pay for the Nicaraguan civil war.

Shot Out of the Sky
Two bizarre events, one in Iran and the other in Nicaragua, spark a frenzy among the press and public. Behind the scenes, Reagan's team debates how best to respond.

The Fall Guy
As the Justice Department launches an investigation into the Reagan administration's deals with Iran, a plot is hatched to cover up the details, and one man is chosen to take the fall for the president.

He talks with an eclectic mix of guests about what is new and relevant in the worlds of politics, entertainment, business, music, technology, and more. Stephen Colbert took over as host, executive producer, and writer of The Late Show on Sept. 8, 2015.
Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and lest known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Before joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed The Colbert Report, which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one-third of the time. Good luck, Bill!

Hostage
Abigail Dalton the recently elected British Prime Minister is fighting for office thanks to a healthcare crisis. Vivienne Toussaint is the first female French President campaigning for re-election no matter what — including tackling France's borders.
