Day 1
Off-duty police officer Laurie Franklin finds herself caught up in a strange sequence of events after a person falls in front of her train.
When she learns that a newborn baby has been abandoned at the local hospital Laurie becomes convinced that the two events must be connected, but both the train's victim and the baby remain unidentified.
As she is drawn deeper into the mystery, Laurie realises this might not be a simple case of suicide at all, but something much darker.

Day 2
While Laurie is determined that the abandoned baby and the body on the train tracks must be connected, her new boss, DI Mal Craig remains sceptical. Evidence surfaces which surprises them both and sends the investigation in an unexpected direction. Meanwhile, baby Michael faces an uncertain future. With his real identity still a mystery, different parties vie to decide his fate.

Day 8
A week on, and with no new leads, Laurie and Mal carry out a reconstruction of the events of that fateful day and this provides some surprising encounters. With baby Michael in danger, speculation is rife about the whereabouts of his parents. Laurie has an unsettling encounter with train driver Pat and starts to realise he might know more about the case than he first let on. Family tensions mount for Nusrat and Danny when they realise that their new visitor is hiding a very dangerous past.

Day 37
Drama. The time has come to decide on baby Michael's future parents. But someone else has a different idea of what's best for Michael - and is prepared to risk all to get their way. Nusrat and Danny are drivenapart as they struggle to come to terms with what happened after the Royal Visit went wrong. And, as Laurie finally resolves the case we learn what really happened on day one.

Day 102
The time has come to decide on baby Michael's future parents. However someone else has a different idea of what's best for Michael, and is prepared to risk all to get their way. Nusrat and Danny are drivenapart as they struggle to come to terms with what happened after the royal visit went wrong. As Laurie resolves the case, what really happened on day one is revealed.
