Flikken Rotterdam - Season 8

After Orlando Hooi's death, Bodo Welberg becomes the new chief. He seems to have little confidence in the team. Hein Berg is appointed public prosecutor at the last minute in the rape case involving 15-year-old Mirthe Boers. Her behavior raises doubts about the circumstances of the rape.

An innocent motorist becomes the victim of a parking dispute. The trail leads to three young students, including Benjamin van Berkel. The wealthy Van Berkel family does everything in its power to prevent a conviction. Stan and Noucha discover new facts surrounding the rape of Mirthe Boers.

Dries and Carolien investigate the deaths of Polish migrant workers. Hein Berg tries to gather evidence that Benjamin van Berkel is guilty of manslaughter. At the same time, Hein is suspected by the Boers family because he has reopened the investigation into Mirthe's rape case.

An escaped psychiatric patient tries to prove his innocence in an unorthodox way. Hein manages to win the trust of Anna Vreysen, the new team leader. Stan and Noucha discover more and more abuses surrounding Mirthe's rape. Hein Berg appears to have underestimated the risks of his profession.

Fugitive drug dealer Gregory Bonne is murdered in front of his girlfriend Sabine. Dries and Carolien track down the young perpetrators. Hein Berg has an appointment with Nadia, a woman from Belarus who is a witness in the rape case of Mirthe Boers. She is also the girlfriend of a judge who Hein knows.

Elementary school teacher Henk Martens is liquidated. His determined sister Brigit has criminals in her circle of acquaintances, but she manages to convince Dries that she had nothing to do with the murder. Benjamin van Berkel's alleged innocence is widely publicized by his lawyer in the run-up to his appeal. Hein tries to persuade an accomplice to come clean.

While Carolien and Dries are searching for additional evidence against Benjamin van Berkel, Hein demands acquittal in the trial against Joop IJzerman, the suspect in the rape of Mirthe Boers. With an unexpected statement from Mirthe, the Boers family launches a counterattack.

Joop IJzerman is acquitted. The Boers family speaks of a conspiracy of high-ranking pedophiles, of which Hein Berg is a part, and swears revenge. Despite the irrefutable evidence against Benjamin van Berkel, he is unexpectedly acquitted.
