Flower Scholars' Love Story - Season 1

While touting her residence service on the street, Dan O encounters a group of hooligans. Fortunately, a stranger emerges and rescues her from the predicament. Undeterred, Dan O continues her efforts and soon encounters a skilled swordsman whom she believes would be an ideal guest. Along with another guest from Garden of Flowers, the four individuals become involved in an unexpected and dangerous situation. 

Dan O becomes aware of her grave predicament upon discovering that some individuals are plotting to seize control of Garden of Flowers. While dealing with a bothersome man on the street who offers to settle her debt if she marries him, Dan O vehemently refuses this proposal. As she gains further insight into the financial burden left behind by her father, Dan O manages to devise a plan to settle the debt, but without realizing the possible unintended consequences that could arise as a result. 

Garden of Flower is the most significant thing for Dan O, and she is determined to do everything in her power to keep it from being taken away. Dan O informs everyone that she has business in Gwacheon-hyeon and will be away for a few days. Although the three young masters initially show indifference, they end up following her. Dan O keeps her search for Lee Seol a secret, oblivious to the risks that lie ahead if she persists.

Despite the danger that it may pose, Dan O continues her search for Lee Seol. Meanwhile, the young masters also end up supporting her search, but not everyone is pleased with her endeavour. Her hard-earned clues lead her closer to Lee Seol, and the danger she faces grows as she gets closer. However, the closer she gets, the greater the peril she encounters. Upon returning to the inn after attending to personal matters, Kang San unexpectedly collapses upon encountering Dan O.

Kang San was found and brought back to Garden of Flowers by Dan O, but his condition appeared critical. However, thanks to Si Yeol's unexpected yet exceptional medical skills, San is able to survive the poisoning. Meanwhile, Dan O hurriedly looks for Si Yeol when she hears the news of his arrest. All her efforts to protect Garden of Flowers seem meaningless, but her care for the young masters continues.

Dan O is someone who values the safety and happiness of those around her more than anything else. In order to ensure their well-being, she makes the difficult decision to let go of Garden of Flowers, which had been her greatest treasure. However, shortly after doing so, Dan O disappears without explanation. Meanwhile, Master Jang Tae Hwa becomes aware that Dan O may be keeping something from him and orders his men to search for her.

Dan O is able to evade trouble with the assistance of the watchman. It dawns on her that her recent efforts to locate Lee Seol have endangered the entire Garden of Flowers family, causing her to feel regretful. In the meantime, individuals associated with the palace approach the three young masters, who are beginning to comprehend the underlying motives for the approach and their unavoidable entanglement in the matter. 

Dan O is rescued from a serious threat by Yu Ha, much to San's disappointment for not being the one to save her. Despite this, the danger still hovers over Dan O, and palace officials keep a close watch on her to uncover clues about Lee Seol and the watchman. Upon San's return from the state exam, Dan O urges him to honour his earlier promises and be completely open about himself.

San returns to the palace to fulfill his duty. Now that Dan O finds out his true identity, she is worried about him day and night as he is surrounded by enemies. Therefore, she looks for a way for him to escape and leave the country. Meanwhile, Lord Sin plans to put a fake Lee Seol on the throne.

San is anxious about the possibility of His Majesty treating Dan O poorly upon summoning her to the palace. San remains as close to Dan O as he can, but his concerns for her well-being persist. The more time San spends with Dan O, the stronger his affection for her becomes, although he also despises himself for burdening her with a dark secret. Meanwhile, San is scheduled to meet his friend in secrecy but soon finds himself surrounded by uninvited guests.

San finally discovers the true identity of the watchman who has been silently protecting him, and this revelation also makes him realize that too many people are putting themselves at risk for his sake, leading him to feel a sense of responsibility to keep those around him safe. At the same time, efforts to locate and identify Lee Seol are intensifying, bringing the search closer to fruition. However, Dan O, who is caught in the middle of it all, may no longer be in a safe position.

San's commitment to creating a better world faces opposition from those who are determined to eliminate Lee Seol and any obstacles in their path. Meanwhile, Yu Ha gathers like-minded individuals under the banner of Mokinhoe, aiming to establish a society where people are treated with respect. While Dan O recognizes the significance of San's commitment, she is afraid of losing him. 

San realizes what Yu Ha has been doing under his name. Out of fury, he warns Yu Ha to turn everything back to normal. However, Hwa Ryung believes it is better to eliminate San as there cannot be two thrones. Meanwhile, Dan O learns why San feels indebted to Ban Ya and about the story behind her father's death. 

San decides to join forces with Yu Ha as their mutual goal is to take the King down. The King drops by Garden of Flowers after a shamanic ritual and gives Dan O a warning. Yu Ha finds out who his birth mother is and gets shocked. San decides to strike the King on the hunting day and says his last goodbye to Dan O.

San successfully takes the King down. He gets chased by the royal guards, but he manages to escape. As the King is in critical condition, the Queen Dowager decides to enthrone a new king. Si Yeol finds out whom Hong Ju was engaged to and gets immensely shocked. Jang Tae Hwa learns the identity of the watchman that killed his son.

Si Yeol decides to leave Hong Ju out of guilt. San asks him to stay, but he leaves nonetheless. The King regains consciousness and stops the Queen Dowager from reinstating the deposed heir. Jang Tae Hwa is ordered to capture Lee Seol. He heads to Garden of Flowers with his soldiers, determined to capture Lee Seol and kill the watchman.

Yu Ha gets taken to the palace. The King decides to hold a banquet and execute him in front of scholars and show what can happen to traitors. San decides to ambush the banquet, and Si Yeol follows him. Meanwhile, Dan O, who was supposed to leave Garden of Flowers and hide, returns to help San with his attack.

As soon as the King carries out the execution, San saves Yu Ha. Even when San reveals who he truly is, the King does not give up on the throne. While protecting San, Si Yeol runs into his old instructor who turns out to be the watchman of the King. Meanwhile, Dan O gets chased by the King's guards, which forces her to draw a bow on a man.
