Episode 1
Laura seems to have it all and when she meets charming newcomer Emily in the playground, they become firm friends - but all is not what it seems.

Episode 2
The night is a blur for Tom and Laura at the work party. A sober Emily leads them back to a hotel, where they pass out next to each other, before Emily takes compromising photos of them. The next morning, Laura's horrified when she realises she may have had sex with Tom. Laura gets home – she's missed the Child Behavioural team meeting, and Rob is furious. She lies to him, saying she slept at Emily's. At Emily's, a mysterious man from the party is revealed to be a journalist. Emily has promised him a big story about Laura's past…

Episode 3
Laura wakes in the night from a recurring nightmare of a child's scream and a body thrashing in water... The next day she is still reeling from the news that Emily lied about her identity. And Emily's furious that she's getting the cold shoulder from Laura. In a pestle and mortar, she crushes an ominous white powder. Laura comes home to find Emily playing nurse to her sick daughter. After a confrontation, they make up, and Emily becomes a temporary nanny. Later, a now paranoid Laura receives a threating letter at work...

Episode 4
The concluding episode. At a meeting with Maggie and journalist Liam, Maggie threatens him with legal action if he continues to pursue Laura. However, he's unperturbed and makes it clear that he also has dirt on Maggie, leaving her shaken. Afterwards, Liam meets Emily. She promises to send him Laura's confession that evening. Emily then calls Rob, crying hysterically, telling him Laura's done something terrible. At Rob's house, Emily tries to seduce him, but he ultimately resists her and tries to leave. Emily stops him, warning him about his wife. He doesn't believe her, and a fight ensues. Once Emily has picked up a drugged Laura from the house, she collects Eliza from school and drives them to a remote coastal location. With Eliza locked in a lighthouse, Laura and Emily confront each other on a cliff and an intense struggle for power ensues, as Laura's memory returns and hidden truths come to light.
