The only show on TV where a stray hair in the bedsheets could cause World War Three is back for a new run. The competition begins in County Derry-Londonderry, where friends Ciaran and Lorraine host at The Inn Castledawson. The tranquil river views go down a storm, as does an afternoon boat trip. But a sound sleep evades some of the B&Bers.

The new run continues. Married couple Des and Mandy host the week's second visit, at their Drumrush B&B in County Fermanagh. The B&Bers embrace some inner peace with the stunning views and an afternoon of Pilates. But a barrage of blunders blights breakfast, leaving Des and Mandy's chances in the competition hanging by a thread.

The cleanliness standards immediately get a dusting down, but spirits are stoked by a visit to the world-famous Bushmills whiskey distillery. June and Stevie share some ghost stories over drinks in the evening, but find themselves spooked by some low scores in the feedback.

The B&Bers feel pampered by the sleek, luxurious interiors and superb spa facilities, and the hosts even offer their guests a pillow menu to ensure they have a great night's sleep. But breakfast is less opulent, with cold eggs proving to be a real turn-oeuf.

The new run continues. Payment day looms for the B&Bers, as they finally find out what they've been paid and who's won. But not before they've bickered about breakfasts, scolded each other's scores and clashed over cleanliness, obviously.

The new run continues. Dad and daughter Dennis and Holly kick off the competition in Norwich, hosting at their award-winning boutique B&B, 38 St Giles. The B&Bers enjoy a historic afternoon at the city's cathedral, before discovering over drinks that a number of their establishments have a similar vibe. Breakfast is a roaring success for all - apart from one, who isn't full of beans about a lack of his favourite ingredient.

The new run continues. Harry and Sarah hope to wow their guests with their recently renovated pub The Royal Oak in Hawkhurst, Kent. Unfortunately, the style doesn't match one B&Ber's standards. After a fer-mental afternoon on the beers at a microbrewery, moods are high. Until some pernickety furniture feedback brings Harry and Sarah back down to earth with a bump.

The new run continues. The B&Bers head to Tiddington in Oxfordshire for the week's third visit, where Dawn hosts at her country pub, The Fox & Goat. The facilities seem to be flawless, leaving one guest determined to find some faulty furniture. There's another historic afternoon out, this time with a tour around Blenheim Palace. All that walking should have the B&Bers knackered and ready for bed - so why does one of them have such a restless night?

The new run continues. The final visit of the week is to No 64 at the Joiners in West Malling, Kent. Host Ollie hopes that his French-styled B&B will have that je ne sais quoi to win the competition. The guests monkey around at a zoo in the afternoon, before things get heated in the kitchen the next morning - and the heat rises even further when Ollie sees his breakfast scores...

During an afternoon pie making class, the guests get a taste of each other as first impressions are formed - and two B&Bers intrigue everyone when they reveal their hospitality inexperience.

There's a wealth of attention to detail during an afternoon of crafting, but two B&Bers note that that quality is severely lacking in their room, which leads to some very strong words from Dean at feedback time.

The new run continues. Singer Marilyn and her mum Agnes host the week's second visit at Bogenraith House in Aberdeenshire, where they're hoping to hit the high notes. But Dean and Chelsie are still smarting from their own feedback and aren't in a forgiving mood about the cleanliness.

Sharmin and Sarah are used to tackling big jobs at their expansive 35-room hotel, but one of their guests finds fault with the facilities. Tension between the B&Bers mounts during a visit to a museum, and the breakfast setup confuses everyone and leaves Sharmin and Sarah with some difficult-to-swallow scores in their feedback.

They're relative rookies in the B&B biz, but they're hoping no one will notice that after a visit to a local brewery. And with 'the best chef in Pembrokeshire' in their kitchen, they reckon they'll be cantering to victory.

For the week's second visit, Anjana and David are aiming to get their guests to branch out at Chillderness, their unique off-grid accommodation in Powys, complete with tree-top accommodation. Alas, the outdoor toilets mean some of the B&Bers are far from keen to lay down roots. And although everyone has a hoot on a trip to meet some birds of prey, the self-catering breakfast leads to some unsavoury feedback.

At Redberth Gardens in Tenby, hosts Carys and Rhys get off to a flyer thanks to the facilities at their glampsite, which include hot tubs, cinema screens and outdoor table football. But tensions soon emerge during a trip to the zoo, as two B&Bers can't help but revisit past comments.

They're hoping their incredible views will put them in sight of the winner's plaque - but it's the vista looking into the room rather than out that doesn't delight one set of guests. But following Bradley's eggstravagant eggspressions of his eggstensive culinary eggsperience throughout the week, everyone's eggspecting an eggsceptional breakfast. So the hosts aren't eggsactly thrilled when one eggsasperated guest returns his... eggs.

The B&Bers' arrival doesn't exactly go smoothly though, with parking problems putting the brakes on Prity and Kyle's chances. At least they've got a plan to take their guests' minds off their vehicular vexation - an afternoon of driving...

But one guest reckons that such a big to-do list means the hosts haven't paid enough attention to his poached eggs at breakfast.

Their riverside pods take everyone's breath away, and a boat ride on the Norfolk Broads leaves them all feeling calm and serene - until attention turns to the looming drama of payment day.

Jack's self-catering camping pods in the middle of a field immerse his guests in the heart of nature, and some complimentary beers on arrival go down well. The rustic compost toilets, not so much...

The attention-to-detail at their self-catering accommodation gets the seal of approval from all of their guests, Phil and Gil keep them sweet with a chocolatier experience in the afternoon, and the breakfast hampers are bountiful. But will the extras add up when it comes to payment?

Experienced chef Justin has piled the pressure on himself throughout the week with some big claims about his culinary chops and egg-cooking skills. Hasn't Justin ever seen Four in a Bed? Poached eggs can be any chef's downfall!
