Season 2
After an outrageous confession, William Hansteen is brought to trial. Aksel hopes that the truth will come to light and that he will finally be washed clean of the old suspicion. He receives support from prosecutor Amina Sahir, who pursues every track that relieves Aksel. Eva Haansteen is every means to protect her husband William from imprisonment. She begins an affair with the policeman Finn Kristoffersen, who is to make incriminating evidence disappear. When another girl dies, the investigation again focuses on the Nilsen family: Aksel's brother Erik is arrested. Alone on his own, Aksel tries desperately to free himself and his brother from suspicion.

William survives the suicide attempt, and Aksel is therefore confident that he will be tried and convicted for the murder of Karine. But the young, newly appointed District Attorney, sees the matter differently.

Motivet
It creates turmoil in Lifjord when Aksel starts to dig into the past for evidence that could get William charged with murder. It turns out that there are others other than William who have something to hide.

Konspirasjonen
Aksel digs on, desperate to convince Amina Sahir that there are grounds for a trial against William. Amina herself even begins to ask questions.

Avsløringen
The stage is set for a dramatic trial in Lifjord. Old wounds are torn open again, and new secrets are revealed.

After William's earthshaking revelations the mood towards Aksel winds up. An unexpected witness turns the case and Aksel is forced to relive the old trauma. Otto Haudemann pushes William and Eva to take unpleasant choices.

Jakten
After the trial the village in earnest turns against Aksel. Eva wants to return to Solar Tech, and Lars has to make an important choice.

Sviket
A new tragedy hits Lifjord and Aksel gets new hope that the Karine case can be resolved once and for all. Amina is facing a difficult dilemma.

Morderen
The lies and secrecy of Karine's death threatens to destroy everyone involved. When Aksel finally reveals the truth it could have fatal consequences.
