He visits them in their own kitchens and they share with him their favourite recipes. A professional cook himself, he knows that you can learn so much more from a passionate and practised person than from any cookery book. In this programme Gregor and his trusted bakers and cooks show us their favourite recipes inspired by countries afar.
In Point in Lewis he tries a French pizza called Pissaladiere, with its salty topping of anchovies and olives. A German man who has made Scotland his home shows Gregor his recipe for rum and raisin cheesecake – just like his grandmother used to make. And Gregor takes his inspiration from Spain cooking up light and crispy churros with a rich melted chocolate sauce.
