The BMW i8 was a much-awaited car when it was released to the world market in 2014 with the first models coming to Australia in 2015. Today on Garage 41 Morley looks at a 2017 version of this plug-in hybrid sports car that can go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds and has a limited top speed of 250km/h, and it's on sale at Dutton Garage.
Tarmac rally competitions consist of varying events within the one. There is the Outright Competition, which is basically a full-on speed event, but for the thinking person, there's TSD (Time Speed Distance), also known as Regularity. This is a passionate category at most Targa rallies and today on Garage 41, we'll tell you how it works.
This weeks Famous Face for Famous Insurance is Molly Taylor, one of Australia's top dirt rally drivers. Molly is the first woman driver to win the Australian Rally Championship outright competition and for two years in a row was the British Ladies Rally Championship. She joins us to talk about her career and her passion for the sport.

Episode 11
Garage 41 is filmed at Dutton Garage in Richmond Victoria and it never ceases to amaze us what cars you find there. This week Morley discovers an immaculate 1965 Sunbeam Tiger, which has direct links to two icons – racer and renowned car builder, Carroll Shelby and super sleuth Maxwell Smart!
Many motor vehicle manufacturers use Tarmac Rallying to showcase their cars, and recently none more so that Lotus. Their Elise and (of late), the Exige have proven to be ideal competition cars, with Paul Stokell winning the 2019 Targa Tasmania in an Exige. This week Mark O'Connor gives an insight into why this form of racing is good for the Lotus brand.
Rob Herrod from Herrod Performance Vehicles is this week's Famous Face for Famous Insurance. Starting out by "hotting up" Ford utes in the outskirts of Melbourne, he's grown his business to now being one of the few in the world to be building cars in conjunction with Ford – a bit like Carroll Shelby, and according to the boys, his supercharged R-Spec Mustang is an absolute winner.
Interest in the competitive hot hatch market has never been greater, particularly now that European brands like BMW and Mercedes are really lifting the bar. Carsales' Feann Torr compares the performance of two of the top hatches, the BMW M135i and the Mercedes A35… with an interesting result!
Motorcycle clubs are a great way of meeting like-minded people, as well as giving riders the opportunity to ride as a group to some very special places. This week Glenn catches up with the Iron Indian Riders Association on a ride that saw old and new Indian bikes make their way through central Victoria.

Episode 12
This week on Garage 41, Morley finds an immaculately restored 1932 Ford Roadster at Dutton Garage and loves the fact that it's a true hot rod … in that it's been restored to it's original values. It doesn't have a modern V8, or disc brakes, or super wide wheels and a whole heap of electronics, it's just as it would have been done in the 1950's and it's still one of the best sounding cars around.
The role of volunteers in our community is so very important and in many cases, jobs wouldn't get done without them, and this definitely applies to motorsport. One could easily say that without volunteers motor sport wouldn't function, so this week Garage 41 salutes all the Targa and Tarmac Rallying volunteers.
Gay Dutton is one of Australia's foremost motorsport artists whose paintings can be found in many private collections and corporate venues like The Bend Motorsport Park and Dutton Garage. Gay joins us as our Famous Face for Famous Insurance to tell how her work started off as an alternative to wallpaper for the original Duttons in Church Street Richmond and has grown in popularity over the years

Coming up at the end of this year are two of this country's top Tarmac Rallies. Based in Cairns, the Targa Great Barriers gets under way in September and coming out of Victoria's premier ski resort, Mount Buller – the Targa High Country is set to run in November. These events are part of the Motorsport Australia Targa Championship, and this week on Garage 41 we'll look at them, and tell you how to enter.

When Indian released the FTR, they did it on the back of the company's flat track racing history, and although the thought of throwing around such a big bike on the dirt is something that wouldn't enter most of our minds, that's not the case for ex Nitro Circus rider Matty McFarren. See what he can do with the Indian FTR on Garage 41.
