Joe Daymond and Kara Rickard travel around Aotearoa, uncovering the origins of our place names. Delving deep into our history uncovering the good, the bad and the ugly.

Episode 2
This week is all about our largest city - Joe is determined to find out who Auckland is named after, and to see if can could get some landmarks named after him. While Kara looks into the name Taamaki Makaurau.

Episode 3
Joe discovers the origins of his hometown The Hutt and Kara uncovers the origins of Te Awakairangi the river that runs through the area.

Episode 4
Joe heads to Picton to find out who this town is named after. While Kara is with local iwi learning about Waitohi, its ceremonial significance and bringing the name back.

Episode 5
Joe is in The Edinburgh of the South uncovering the Scottish roots of Dunedin. While Kara gets an understanding of the name Ootepoti. Also what are the origins of the name Otago.

Episode 6
Joe is in the Waikato to see what effects a name change could have, while Kara is in Whakataane to learn the story behind the name, and question gender equality in our placenames.

The Terror
