Abby (Lisa Edelstein) and Barbara (Retta) launch their lifestyle blog, but it won't last long if they don't find a way to bring traffic to the site. As they look into potential influencers to boost views, a run in with Abby's ex Will (Warren Christie) and his new girlfriend, starlet Temple Hampton (Denise Richards), sparks Barb's imagination. Delia's (Necar Zadegan) humanitarian efforts at Legal Aid send her on a stakeout with an abrasive but experienced new colleague Paul Cordero (Ignacio Serrichio). Phoebe (Beau Garrett), at the expense of her floundering marriage to JD (Aaron Staton), gets in deeper with her seductive new friend Gemma Sacco (Daisy Betts). Jo (Alanna Ubach) consummates her flirtation with sparring partner Bald Eagle without realizing his true identity.

Rule #10: Just Survive
Abby (Lisa Edelstein) and Barbara (Retta) continue to clash over big financial decisions at Lady Parts. While Abby considers reconnecting with an old flame, she also cautions her daughter Lilly (Conner Dwelly) against becoming sexually active with new boyfriend Ethan. An errand for Gemma (Daisy Betts) brings Phoebe (Beau Garrett) to JD's door, where she's forced to reconsider her priorities. Delia (Necar Zadegan) and Paul (Ignacio Serrichio) take their working relationship to the next level. Jo (Alanna Ubach) attends a silent retreat and confronts Albert (Brian Markinson); the truth leaves her stunned.

Rule #706: Let Them Eat Cupcakes
Abby (Lisa Edelstein) hurries out of town to deal with a family emergency, leaving Barbara (Retta) alone to make some difficult decisions for their company. Tension between Jo (Alanna Ubach) and Delia (Necar Zadegan) builds as they hide their new discoveries from each other. Phoebe (Beau Garrett) ponders some dispiriting lifestyle changes after she has trouble finding work. Abby and her mother Dina (Lesley Ann Warren) clash as they deal with their stress in different ways. A harrowing twist of fate leaves Abby reeling.

Rule #49: Let It Shine
The girlfriends rally around Abby (Lisa Edelstein) as she says a final farewell to her mother. Abby's brother Max (Patrick Heusinger) makes an appearance and reconnects with Phoebe (Beau Garrett). Delia (Necar Zadegan) and Jo (Alanna Ubach) finally confront each other about Albert (Brian Markinson), and Delia finally faces her true feelings about Paul (Ignacio Serrichio). Abby gets an unexpected surprise from an old flame.

Abby (Lisa Edelstein) returns to Lady Parts to find nothing at her company is how she left it. A seven-day escrow forces Phoebe (Beau Garrett) to confront the reality of downsizing faster than she'd like. While at Phoebe's estate sale, Delia (Necar Zadegan) and Jo (Alanna Ubach) face down the awkward Albert (Brian Markinson) situation. Meanwhile at work, Delia throws herself into running Paul's (Ignacio Serrichio) campaign for City Council. Abby goes behind Barbara's (Retta) back in making a big decision for Lady Parts. A disaster is narrowly avoided at Abby's house when Abby's father George (Barry Bostwick) is left alone.

Rule #155: Go with the Magician
Abby (Lisa Edelstein) grapples with what to do with her father while making a last ditch effort to salvage her professional relationship with Barbara (Retta). Jo (Alanna Ubach) makes an impulsive decision that will affect the future of her business and her relationship with Albert (Brian Markinson). Phoebe (Beau Garrett) finds another way to make money by renting out her house, only to be shocked when someone from her past appears on her doorstep. Delia (Necar Zadegan) must face down an important test and Abby decides how to handle the situation with her father George (Barry Bostwick) with some input from an old friend.
