Digital Make-Up: Adidas

In true Glow Up style, we are breaking through the make-up boundaries of this world and we are heading into the metaverse this week, as our MUAs have been booked by global mega-brand Adidas to design digital looks for Metaverse Fashion Week.
And if that wasn't enough pressure, they also have to impress this week's guest judge Isamaya Ffrench, who is a revolutionary force within the beauty industry. Known for experimental looks at fashion weeks across the world, Isamaya is joined by Erika Wykes-Sneyd from Adidas and GG, head of Metaverse Fashion Week.
As they are over halfway through the competition, the MUAs are striving to beat each other and prove to the judges they have what it takes to work in any environment and deliver flawless looks.
Just like fashion week in the real world, our MUAs must work in teams: their first job is to try and agree on a key (lead) MUA. The key's role is to come up with the look and concept, demonstrate it to the team and then make sure the other MUAs follow their brief.
The MUAs' creativity is really tested this week, as to demonstrate what they want their digital make-up to be, they must use unconventional materials, such as string and holographic paper, to represent the impossible. This gives the digital designers a 360-degree canvas to base the digital looks on. The digital designers then bring to life the neon tubes, inflated balloon skin and floating string.
In Glow Up studios, it's another big shock for the MUAs as half the chairs have turned red, putting more MUAs in the danger zone. Hoping to fight their way out, they must excel in this Creative Brief. They are tasked to produce cartoon characters that live in a made-up world.
After Dominic wows with his Scooby-Doo impressions, all eyes turn to the MUAs. One MUA uses prosthetics to exaggerate the amphibious features, whilst another has melted gelatine ready to slime a whole face!
Following judging, two MUAs head into the Face-Off elimination where against the clock they are asked to produce a smoky eye with negative space. It's a very close call, and one MUA packs up their kit and leaves the competition.
