Day 2

Hazel Irvine introduces the second round of the Women's British Open, the fourth and last major on the Ladies' Tour this year. The year's previous three majors have all ended with first-time winners and world number one Lorena Ochoa of Mexico will hope to continue that trend as she looks to better her current highest finish in a major of second. Once-dominant Swede Annika Sorenstam is attempting to halt the march of time, having failed to threaten the leaderboard at her last four majors. She has younger players snapping at her heels, among them American Morgan Pressel - who, at 18, became the youngest winner of any of the women's majors at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in April. With another prodigy, Michelle Wie, struggling all year with a wrist injury, Pressel could be the new face to watch on the Old Course at St Andrews.
