Городок на честном слове
Слово «честный» имеет несколько значений. Честный – тот, у которого есть честь; тот, который не ворует; тот, который не врёт. Есть и устаревшее значение – тот, которого уважают, т.е. честной молодец. Понятно, почему оно устарело: в наше время не удастся протолкаться в уважаемые люди, если вы не умеете врать и воровать хотя бы по мелочам. И только после того, как вам уже удалось стать уважаемым, можно будет наконец врать и воровать по-крупному. Есть также странное выражение «честная девушка», что означает девственная. Если принимать его всерьёз, то понятие «честная женщина» вообще теряет всякий смысл. Кроме того, хорошо известно, что честные девушки в наше время практически не встречаются, а как только начинают встречаться с кем-нибудь, сразу перестают быть девушками. Но не все старые значения устарели – например, до сих пор существует понятие «честное слово». И не только существует, но и является основой нашей жизни, поскольку очень многие из нас только на честном слове и держатся. Потому и наша новая программа называется «Городок на честном слове».
