Mavis Moulterd has still got a mad, passionate crush on Mr. Humphries. Mrs. Slocombe gets a letter from an old friend and Captain Peacock finds a loaded gun in the writing room.

Cricket
The staff continue the tradition of hosting and taking part in a cricket match. However, preparations don't go quite as smoothly as expected.

Breaking Up is Hard to Do
Mrs. Slocombe is stunned when her long lost husband appears to have made enquiries about buying the hotel. He's been missing since he went to a supermarket in 1942.

The Cat Came Back
Captain Peacock discovers a dead cat hidden behind one of the walls. After they get rid of it, they find it was put in the hotel to cancel out bad luck.

The Darts Match
Mr. Rumbold gets a vote of no confidence. It seems his wife has left him, which has made him more pompous. Meanwhile, the staff agree to play a darts match with the villagers.

The Mongolians
A group of businessmen due to stay at the manor are expecting some culture-Shakespeare and opera. But with no money to spend on entertainment, there seems to be only one answer.
