This comedy western is based on two successful films "The Apple Dumpling Gang" and "The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again." Barry Van Dyke stars as Russell Donovan, a gambler and ladies' man who finds himself caring for two youngsters (Keith Mitchell and Bridgette Andersen) he won in a poker game. The bumbling in this show falls to Tim Thomerson and Geoffrey Lewis as two so-called outlaws. Henry Jones stars as Homer McCoy, the town's barber, sheriff and justice of the peace.
