When Christmas app developer Addison Dean is convinced by her brother to come home to celebrate Christmas, when he plans of proposing to his girlfriend, she is reluctant to go home. However, it doesn't take long for Addy to wish for a year without Christmas, and following an accident, wakes up in a world of black and white and nobody celebrating Christmas. She soon realizes what happened and convinces the town mechanic to help her make things right again.

After a chance meeting with Henrik, an Norwegian downhill skier, JJ, a PhD student has the opportunity to travel to Bergen, Norway to finish her meteorology thesis and uncover the mystery of who gifted her late grandmother a handmade carved troll. While there, she and Henrik forge a connection and fall in love.
