Competitors from the north-west of England take on their spelling counterparts from the South.

Children from Northern Ireland and the English Midlands compete in the penultimate heat of the spelling test.

A place in Sunday's final is at stake as children from Wales and South East England are brought together in the nationwide spelling test.

After months of scouring the country for the UK's best young speller, the moment of truth has arrived. Over 100,000 children have been whittled down to just five, but who walk away with the title, a family holiday and media equipment for their school?
