Valle moves from the country to the city, but intends to go back to his horse when it is about to foal. He meets Märta, who is not particularly impressed by boys from the country, but who nevertheless becomes his friend. Valle receives a letter in which he is immediately asked to come to the country when the horse is to foal. He lacks money for the trip and has received a tip on how to get money, as long as you invest something yourself. Märta and Valle travel together, but danger threatens as the unsuspecting have left home.
